Special officials met TN students in Badgam Srinagar; ensure their safety

Aftab Rasool, a special official of the Tamil Nadu government, visited the National Institute of Technology (NIT) on Monday to ensure the safety of TN students studying on the campus. The authorities were there to guarantee any help (if needed).

Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam, after receiving some concerns from the students studying in Jamu and Kashmir, directed Mr. Rasool to meet with the students to ensure their safety. Last Saturday, Mr. Rasour also visited the National Institute of French Technology (NIFT) in the Badgam area and met with TN students studying there.

Twelve students from Tamil Nadu studied NIT in Hazratbal in Srinagar, while 11 studied NIFT in Ompura in badgam. One official said the special officer met with students we studied at these institutions, as well as the authorities there, assured them.

Shortly after the terrorist attack near Pahargam claimed the lives of 26 people, the Tennessee government set up a control room in a Tamil Nadu house in Delhi to coordinate and promote the safe return of the Tamils. The TN national capital Aks Vijayan and the Special Representative of Permanent Commissioner Ashish Kumar have been coordinating their efforts.

Meanwhile, Dr Parameswaran, of New Delhi, is improving treatment for bullet damage at AIIMS, an official said.
