Special work in the displaced colonies; 9,600 rupees for Thalliki Vandanam in May: Nadendla

Kakinada: Eluru Regional Head and Civil Supply Minister Nadendla Manohar announced that the state government will organize special work to provide employment opportunities for the relocation and recovery of residents (R&R) colonies of the Polavaram Project. He also said new ration cards will be issued and support will be extended to help them build industrial units.

He accompanied him with the Civil Supplies Commissioner Sourabh Gaur, regional collector K. Vetri Selvi, co-collector P. Dhatri Reddy, Polavaram Mla Chirri Bala Raju and others on Tuesday at the R&R Colony of Routhugudem Village in Buthayigudem Mandal.

Manohar said 379 villages have been identified as submerged due to the Polavaram project and Rs 4853 crore have been distributed to affected people. The government will provide comprehensive support to those who sacrifice their land, including the provision of drinking water, CC roads, schools, Anganwadi centers, hospitals, ration stores, and personal Tap Connections under Jal Jeevan Mission.

He noted that 10,000 families are eligible for the Antyodaya Anna Yojana program, whose ration cards have been allocated to 3,000 so far. After the EKYC procedure is completed at the end of May, new ration cards will also be issued to qualified individuals and newlyweds.

The minister added that the government will repair the houses in the R&R colony built five years ago. He said the commitment of the coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said development and welfare were given priority. He revealed that a monthly pension of Rs 270,063 crore will be allocated and Rs 9.6 crore will be released in the Thalliki Vandanam plan in May.

Subsidies for the DeepAm cylinder will be attributed to the beneficiary’s bank account within 48 hours of replenishment.

Civil Supply Commissioner Sourabh Gaur said that officials began distributing Antyodaya Anna Yojana cards in rehabilitation colonies as directed by the Chief Minister. Regional collector K. Vetri Selvi said the beneficiaries were identified through the investigation and Grama Sabhas.
