Speeding cargo rams into nursing students in Gardwar, two were killed and two injured

Two nursing students were killed and two others were injured when a speeding cargo was loaded into the speeding cargo near Gardwar on Tuesday evening (29 April 2025).
The victims were identified as Manisha and Maheshwari, aged around 16, and were students at the Government Nursing College near the old SP office. According to the Gardwar Police Department, the incident was reportedly at about 5 p.m., when students were waiting on the roadside, about 150 meters from their university for transportation.
The speeding vehicle, coming from the direction of Jammulamma Temple, deviated from the route and hit a telephone pole. “Two students died at the scene, while two other students were injured and moved to a nearby hospital. They are currently undergoing treatment,” said an official from the Gardwar Police Department.
The driver of the vehicle has been detained and police suspect he may have been affected by alcohol at the time of the accident. The case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
