Untested death found in a prison in Mangaluru area

A failed person in the Mangaluru area prison allegedly died of suicide in the early morning of March 16. According to police, the incident occurred in Barrack’B’ in Room 2, cell 2, where the inmate was found hanging in the toilet.
The deceased was identified as Prakash Gopal Moolya (43), a resident of Moodbidri Hudco Colony. He was arrested in Moodbidri on March 11 under Articles 4 and 6, 65 of the BNSS and POCSO Act.
Preliminary information shows that Moolya uses towels to hang herself on the pane grille inside the toilet. Prison staff immediately noticed the incident and took him to the government Wenlock Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. The case has been registered with the Barker Police Department.
