Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) picked Ranji Trophy record Harsh Dubey as a backup to R Smaran, who was excluded from IPL 2025 after being injured.
Smaran replaced Adam Zampa with a shoulder injury.
The demanding Dubey plays for Vidarbha on the domestic tour. In the 2024-25 Ranji season, Dubey picked most wicket records in a single season with 69 seasons.
The 22-year-old left-arm spinner was acquired by SRH for Rs 3 million in the last player auction.
SRH's playoff hopes are over due to their last game defeat. If they win all the remaining games, they still have to rely on the results of other teams. The Cummins-led team will serve as the Delhi capital for tonight (Monday).
