Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Brahmotsavalu ends

Warangal: Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Brahmotsavalu (commonly known as Mallanna Jathara) held a 12-week celebration at Komuravelli Temple in Komuravelli village. The finale unfolds after midnight on Sunday as temple authorities, priests and thousands of devotees performed a venerable Agni Gundalu Fire ceremony in accordance with Veerashaiva Agama Shastra.

The festival begins on the first Sunday of Sankranti (a day celebrated by Patnam Varam), with special religious events held every Sunday, eventually before the start of the Ugadi Festival. Devotees from all over the region gathered in the temple to provide Naivedyam (food) to Mallikarjuna and the goddess, expressed gratitude throughout the celebration and fulfilled their vows.

On the last day, after midnight, the priest ended the special puja and brought the Utsava idol to 4 a.m. Monday. The devotees follow, crossing the fire pit while offering prayers and participating in a sacred ceremony that symbolizes the conclusions of this major cultural and religious event.

The three-month Brahmotsavalu, which started on January 19, includes many specials and the famous Putnam wedding ceremony, set the tone for the celebration.
