Associated Press Wine Scam: Congressman Midhun Reddy approaches Supreme Court to prevent arrest

Rajampet MP PV Midhun Reddy member has contacted the Supreme Court to seek protection in a liquor scam case registered by AP CID due to alleged attempts to arrest him.

According to a release by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), the CID team arrived in Delhi and arrested Mr Midhun Reddy, although he was not designated as a defendant and dismissed the expected bail petition filed by the High Court on April 3, 2025 on the ground.

YSRCP accused CID officials of threatening to make false statements and forcing them to name certain people for raids and arrests.

Mr. Midhun Reddy filed an anticipated bail request to HC after conducting a large-scale irregularity in the alcohol business in the alcohol business supervised by AP State Beverage Company in September 2023.

However, the HC noted that the expected bail petition could not be maintained as he did not propose any measures against Mr. Midhun Reddy due to his failure to be classified as a defendant.
