Students accused of more than a dozen wrong questions on the exam; Congressional leaders demanded investigation

The examination was conducted by the State Co-Entry Testing Group of the Maharashtra Government, which is an admission to the College of Engineering for the 2025-2026 academic year. As many as 25 math problems are reported to have wrong choices, causing confusion and anxiety among candidates.
Some students in Maharashtra claim that there are more than a dozen questions that are wrong or irrelevant choices in the MHT General Admissions Examination (CET) PCM Group Online Examination held on Sunday (April 27). The examination was conducted by the State General Entrance Testing Team of the Maharashtra State Government, which is an admission to the College of Engineering for the 2025-2026 academic year.
According to media reports, between 15 and 25 mathematical problems, there are wrong choices, which trigger confusion and anxiety among candidates.
Parents expressed concern
“All students are working hard for these exams and are now angry, frustrated and depressed. Technical errors in CET cells have undermined their morale. Corrective measures are needed to be taken immediately to safeguard the future of students.”
“My daughter has been ready for two years and just found that there are wrong choices for over 20 math problems,” he added.
Congressional leaders demand investigation
Meanwhile, Dileep B Sardesai, an official at the state’s CET cell, told the news media that after some time, students will be provided with “anti-tracker” facilities to raise their concerns.
Congress leader Harshwardhan Sapkal said it was a “very serious” issue and asked for an investigation into the student’s allegations. “Why should students fill it out due to negligence from an institution or the institution or company responsible for preparing the paper?” he asked in a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. “The state government is fully responsible for ensuring that under no circumstances will be harmed,” Sapukal added.
