Summer traveler, worried but still packing bags

Chennai: Indian travelers packing their bags feared geopolitical tensions this summer but have not completely put their plans on hold. Lower air tickets and favorable climate make Europe a favorite Indian destination this time.
“We are receiving a lot of inquiries from travelers, but many are concerned about recent developments in the United States. The United States and Europe are often the main destinations for summer travel. This time people prefer Europe,” said Iqbal Mulla, chairman of the Global Tourism Commission.
The increase in flight numbers between India and Europe has also caused tickets to drop. Air India like Indigo is expanding its operations in Western Europe this year after launching its flights in Eastern Europe earlier.
“Our data reflects a decrease in air tickets for key European destinations this year – 3% in Swellland, 2-4% in France and 3-6% in Scandinavia. This decline further stimulates demand and can be attributed to a significant increase in air routes and frequencies between India and Europe,” India.
Additionally, as airlines and airlines like Indigo expand their presence, Australia and New Zealand are witnessing their interest due to their advantages in off-peak pricing in winter, as well as unique outdoor and adventure experiences such as skydiving, bongi jumping, giggi, glacier, glacier hiking and surfing.
Holidays and company trips, SOTC trips, visa-free or simple visa destinations are driving strong demand, according to President and State Head SD Nandakumar. However, India’s quintile on the Henry Passport Index 2025 rose to 85, which would limit travel to 57 destinations without a visa or arrival visa.
On the domestic front, including Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Himaal Pradesh, Northeast and South mountain stations.
“Young Indian Giz and millennials are looking for hidden gems and event-based travel such as music festivals and sporting events, while multigenerational families embrace a scenic driving lineup and experiential accommodation,” Kyle said.
“The key travel trend we have observed is the growing demand for personalized experiences besides traditional travel – walking from forest rehabilitation in Peora (Uttarakhand) to a luxurious spa in Araku Valley (Andhra Pradesh). Offbeat Ocean and River Cruises are also popular, such as the Brahmaputra River Cruise Cruise Cruise Cruise Cruise Cruise Cruise Cruise Cruise Cruise Cruise,” Nandakakumar said. ”
