Officials said Baba Siddique’s son, Nationalist Congressional Party (NCP) leader Zeeshan Siddique, received a death threat via email on Monday. Threat that he would kill in the same way as his father.
According to police, the sender also asked Siddique to provide Rs 10 crore.
The sender also added that he would send such emails every six hours, the official added.
Meanwhile, Siddique also claimed that the death threat email he received was sent from Company D, who requested a ransom of Rs 10 crore.
“As mentioned at the end of the email, the emails through Company D were threatened and they demanded a ransom of Rs 10 crore. Police have taken the details and recorded the statement. Our family was disturbed as a result.”
Further investigation is underway.
