The Supreme Court attorney representing one of the litigants in the WAQF bill has written to Attorney General Venkatramani seeking consent to file a temp lawsuit against BJP MP Nishikant Dubey in order to reduce his “extremely scandalous” remarks to reduce the dignity of the top courts”.
It was a day when Mr. Dolby launched a broad side against the Supreme Court, saying that if the Supreme Court had to enact the law, it should close the parliament and state parliament. He also swiped to Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna to hold him responsible for the country’s “civil war”.

Advocate Anas Tanveer said in a letter to the attorney general that Dolby’s remarks were “deeply derogatory and dangerously provocative.”
“I have humbly sought your consent to your consent to the litigation of the Supreme Court in 1975 under section 15(1)(b) of the Contempt Court Act 1971 and the contempt lawsuit against the Supreme Court in 1975, in order to humbly seek your consent to your consent to the litigation of criminal offences against Shri Nishikant Dubey, Shri Nishikant Dubey, Shri Nishikant Dubey, honiement for Lok sark for lok sabhy for lok sabha parrency of Godda parlia for Godda parlia, the letter says:

Dubey’s remarks come after news that the center assured the court, and the court will not implement certain disputed provisions (amendments) of the WAQF Act (amendments) until the hearing the next day after the court challenges it.
The BJP distanced itself from Dubey’s criticism of the Supreme Court on Saturday (April 19, 2025), while party chairman JP Nadda called the comments his personal opinion.
He also confirmed the respect of the ruling party for the judiciary, an integral part of democracy.
Mr Nada said he directed the party leaders not to make such comments.
