Star Indian cricket cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and others are against the terrorist attacks on tourists on Pahalgam of Chamu & Kashmir.

On Tuesday, April 22, devastating terrorist attacks took place in the quiet Baisaran valleys of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, destroying the tranquility of this beloved hill station. Police reports show that a team of four to six terrorists failed to fire at innocent civilians, killing at least 26 people and killing many others.

Members of the Indian cricket community expressed grief and solidarity towards the victims following this meaningless act of violence. Famous players such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag all entered their social media platforms to share heartfelt messages about the tragic incident.

Shubman Gill said: “It is heartbreaking to hear the attacks from Pahalgam. My prayers are with the victims and their families. Violence has no place in our country.”

Yuvraj Singh’s former Indian cricketer wrote: “It’s very sad about Pahalgam’s attack on tourists. Pray for the power of the victims and their families. Let’s unify us in hopes with humanity.”

Star India Batter Virat Kohli expressed condolences to the victims’ families and prayed for the cruelty.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma also posted a heartbroken emoji on his Instagram account to express his grief.

Indian cricket head coach Gautam Gambhir wrote: “Pray for the families of the dead. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike.”

Former Indian all-rounder Suresh Raina said: “Strongly condemns the cowardice of Pakistan-sponsored terrorists. India unites with our brave army, J&K police and paramilitary forces in the fight against terrorism. Justice will prevail.”

“My heart is dedicated to the families of all those who have died in the Dastardly attack. This is unforgivable,” wrote former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh.

“Innocent lives were killed by ignorant violence. Pray for the affected families to strength and peace. Let us join forces against hatred.”

Sadly, about 26 people, mainly tourists, were killed, and more were injured in the terrorist attacks at Pahalgam Hill station in Jamu and Kashmir. On that fateful day, U.S. Vice President JD Vance was visiting India, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially headed to Saudi Arabia.

A group of gunmen emerged from the nearby forest in Pahalgam between 2:45 pm and 3 pm. They opened fire, causing chaos and casualties in the crowd. Witnesses reported that the attackers in uniform fired mercilessly, instilling fear in the hearts of tourists. The lack of nearby vehicles will only exacerbate panic.

In response to this tragedy, Jamu and Kashmir are observing a complete shutdown on Wednesday, April 23 as a way to jointly mourn and protest the brutal terrorist attack. This marks the first total closure in the region since the abolition of Article 370 in 2019, and such calls usually come from separatist groups.
