Survey to collect data on the planned caste of Mandia’s program

Deputy Director Kumar said the investigation will strengthen data on the Mandia District Planned Caste (SC) that began on May 5.

He also directed officials to speed up the process. The investigation follows a single-person commission of inquiry directive on the planned internal reservation classification, led by Justice HN Nagamohan Das.

Dr. Kumar said Mandia reported only 26% of progress in collecting SC data, so he directed officials to speed up the process.

A total of 1,889 enumerators were appointed for the survey in the region.

According to Dr. Kumar, staff members engaged in the investigation will report directly to the district government and set a deadline to complete all planned caste families in the area within the next three days.

He noted that according to the 2011 census, there were 61,423 planned caste families in the region. However, so far, the survey has covered only 15,973 households, thus describing the progress of the exercise as slack.

The deputy commissioner held a review meeting with officials on Friday, and he also met with leaders of the SC community in Mandia District. He said the practice should require visiting every family in the area. The Deputy Commissioner said that for any reason, any pre-determined caste family should not be a single instance.

He directed every Tahsildars and officials of the Taluk Social Welfare Department to monitor daily progress and ensure 100% completion, in addition to ensuring that census staff achieve their daily goals.

Deputy Director of Women and Child Welfare and other Deputy Commissioner, Shivanand Murthy, of British Columbia, attended the meeting.
