‘Drought or Flood’: Pakistan gazed at double challenges after India’s action; social media ruzzle | Indian News

Pahalgam terrorist attack: India announces moratorium on the Indian Water Treaty, which requires water supply from the Indus River, Chenab and Jhelum to Pakistan, and the Islamic state will be in chaos. Although Pakistan calls India’s actions “acts of war”, Indian Minister CR Patil said the government will not allow a drop of water to flow to Pakistan. If India stops flowing, it will affect millions of Pakistanis and their agricultural livelihoods.

The Indian Water Treaty suspension followed the terrorist attacks that killed 26 people after the Pahargam terrorist attacks in Jamu and Kashmir. The Pakistan-backed terrorist has carried out targeted killings in the valley, mainly shooting non-Muslim tourists.

Now, despite Pakistan’s expected drought on the Chenab River, local citizens claim India has released water to Jhelum, declaring flooding in the surrounding area. Pakistani social media users claimed that India released a large amount of water to the Yarum River without notifying Pakistan, causing a sharp rise in water levels near Muzaffarabad. The region has issued flood alerts and national disaster managers have been deployed.

Another user said: “India released excess water from Anantnag to the Jhelum River, dangerously raising the water level and threatening life and livelihoods downstream. India should deal with and stop this water terrorism accordingly.”

The Indians also responded to reports of the flood. “Several Pakistani handles claim that India suddenly released the Gillem waters without prior notice. When they were busy preparing for the drought, floods surfaced from the syllabus,” one user said.

Another user said: “This is Jalwa of PM Modi – sometimes it’s flooding, sometimes it’s drought. This morning, so much water was flooded and now the dam is completely closed. The water in Yarum is no longer flowing to Pakistan.”
