The Supreme Court asked Uddhav Thackeray to focus on local body polls on Wednesday (7 May 2025) after the party requested an emergency hearing on its plea to the Speaker of the Maharashtra Parliament, which decided to give the symbol of bow and arrow to the symbol of Eknath Shinde Leed Shinde Shinde Leed Shinde Leed Shiv Sena.
Justices Surya Kant and N. Kotiswar Singh told senior advocate Kapil Sibal that he attended Shiv Sena (UBT), a matter that can only be rested in court after summer break due to the scarcity of time.
Mr Sibar said the Speaker of Parliament sent to the 2023 Exonas Sind faction under the legislative majority, which runs contrary to the Constitutional Court's ruling.

Mr Sibal said: “The Shinde faction will use the symbol of Shiv Sena in local human elections, which is especially important in rural areas.”
However, Justice Kant wanted to know that the local body polls fought with the symbol of the party.
Mr Sibar said this happened in Maharashtra and that the party’s symbols would have a significant impact on the thoughts of voters.
“You let the election take place. We have been told that the local agency elections have been held in Maharashtra for over five years. You focus on the polls. We will see what we can do.”
Current situation decision
Mr Sibar said that in 2022 the court only brought the situation without an election.
Justice Kant said he is therefore blaming the delays in the system, adding that the court imposed certain conditions on the Maharashtra Parliamentary Poll using symbols similar to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) symbol lines.
