PM Modi will speak at around 8 pm on May 12

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the country at around 8pm on Monday (May 12, 2025), his first since Operation Cydor began, officials said.
The speech was reached in India and Pakistan two days after two days to stop all shooting and military operations on land, air and oceans and take effect immediately.

After four days of cross-border strikes, this has sparked fear of wider conflict.
India launched Operation Sindoor on the evening of May 6-7, avenging the killing of 26 people in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Indian armed forces targeted nine terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), killing more than 100 terrorists.

Pakistan then attempted to attack several Indian military bases on May 8, 9 and 10.
The Indian armed forces launched a fierce counterattack on several military facilities in Pakistan, including Rafiki, Murid, Chakrala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukr and Junian.

The radar sites at Pasrur and Sialkot Aviation Bases are also targets for precision ammunition, resulting in mass damage to the Director of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant Rajiv Ghai said that 35-40 Pakistani military personnel had been killed in the fight and New Delhi achieved its desired goals.
Lieutenant General Ghai is scheduled to speak with his Pakistani counterpart for the second time tonight (since May 10, 2025).
