Malayalam film actor Mohanlal will pray at the Sabarimala Temple on March 19.
V. Abdurahiman, Minister of Ethnic Welfare of Kerala, Tiruvanat Province, condemned certain people on Thursday for spreading statements about the public venom dedicated by actor Mohanlal on behalf of actor mammootty at the temple of Sabarimal.
Mr. Abdurahiman asked those who make narrow and uncivilized statements about Mr. Mohanlal’s dedication should apologize to the public.
He said in a statement that those who irresponsibly make such remarks fail to understand the nature of secularism maintained by Kerala is a shame for the state.
He said: “Religious scholars should step up and reject this dangerous position. These remarks are intended to undermine a particular religion in public. This controversy will only strengthen the hidden agenda of community polarization in Kerala society.”
Mr. Abdullaman said people must be wary of the anger of those who fail to grasp the human nature of religion promotion and the fraternity.
“We have witnessed a religious leader criticizing an elderly Muslim woman for traveling to Monar with her children, which is a huge sin. They also try to stop students from taking their learning journeys. Any such return action must be resisted,” he said.
Actor’s pilgrimage
The minister’s statement was published after Mohanlal’s sacrifice at the Sabarimal Temple, and he enjoyed his well-being at the Sabarimal Temple on March 19. After the delivery receipt was leaked and spread, there was a part of the extreme religious view that Mr. Mamoti was a Muslim and that he should apologize if he asked Mr. Mohanal to pray on his behalf at the Hills Shrine.
This sparked a controversy, with many participating in social media, rallying behind two popular actors, praising their friendship.
