Tamannaah’s Odela 2 struggles at the box office, hoping to gradually diminish

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia’s highly anticipated supernatural thriller Odela 2 seems to have faced a tough time at the box office.
A leading exhibitor revealed that the film’s reaction was not cold, earning Rs 2 crore so far and its opening day collection was Rs 8.5 crore. To be considered a success in Telugu, the film needs to be filmed at least Rs 1,000 crore, which seems difficult to achieve.
“Horror thrillers often rely heavily on word of mouth publicity,” the exhibitor explained. “But for Odela 2, the buzz is full of mix, which could further affect the turnout of the audience.”
Meanwhile, writer-director Sampath Nandi has been actively promoting the film, even teasing the potential Odela 3. Critics also point out that while the film tends toward ghostly elements, it underestimates the role of Naga Sadhu until it climaxes, she becomes a fiery goddess. The existence of several Déjà Vu scenes also did not help its appeal.
Currently, Tamannaah is expected to return to special numbers in Bollywood while awaiting another powerful, author-supported character in the Telugu movie.
