Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai leaves Delhi to meet Amit Shah

Chennai: Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai set out for Delhi and is expected to meet with Trade Union Home Minister Amit Shah for discussion.

The meeting took place two days after AIADMK Secretary General Edappadi Palaniswamy met with Amit Shah in the national capital.

Meanwhile, Palaniswami said on Wednesday that he had enforced the law enforcement bill on the alleged scam involving state-owned liquor company TASMAC when he met with the coalition’s interior minister Amit Shah and urged a detailed inquiry.
Palaniswami, also an opposition leader in the Tamil Nadu parliament, met with the Union Home Minister in the national capital on Tuesday night with the union home minister, the AIDS leader said various issues concerning Tamil Nadu, including the language formula for national education policy, freeing funds and developing railway projects for the state.

Palaniswami denied reports of discussions about the upcoming Tamil Nadu Parliament polls between the Bharatiya Janata Party and AIADMK in 2026.


Palaniswami said: “We are here for people’s problems. We are here for people’s problems. The election still has a year of elections. Ideology is constant and is based on the situation.

After J Jayalalithaa’s death in 2016, AIADMK formed an alliance with BJP.

DMK won the 2019 Lok Sabha and the 2021 General Assembly elections, and DMK also won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

AIADMK and the BJP allied with the alliance of the 2021 state elections, during which time the BJP won four seats. However, its relationship with the BJP broke down in 2023.
