ChennaiRaj Bhavan said on Thursday that the State Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan was designated as the legal portfolio for the advice of Chief Minister MK Stalin, while the recruitment of the law minister was designated as the Minister of Natural Resources.
The portfolio of minerals and mines held by Duraimurugan so far will be taken care of by the Regent, the press release said.
Shortly after the announcement of the portfolio change, Duraimurugan, the highest minister in the cabinet, fell ill and was taken to Apollo Hospital in Chennai for examination.
