Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Flag 214 new state-owned transport company new bus

As the DMK regime in Tamil Nadu enters its fifth year, Chief Minister MK Stalin announced 214 new buses on 214 buses in Island Cloves on Wednesday (7 May 2025).

According to official reports, the Tamil Nadu government provides transportation services to the public through eight state-owned transport companies with affordable fares.

According to public demand, the state government introduced new bus routes, introduced new buses, renovated old buses, improved bus stations, and implemented various plans in a systematic way. These include free travel facilities for women, students, disabled people and their waiters, transgender people, Tamil scholars and freedom fighters.

Through the “Magalir Vidiyal Payanam” (Women’s free bus trip), women traveled 68.4 billion times. In total, 3,727 new buses have been introduced and 1,500 buses have been renovated over the past four years. After the launch of the new bus, Mr Stalin advised drivers and conductors to stop the bus at designated stops and ensure proper boarding of women’s beneficiaries in accordance with the “Magalir Vidiyal Payanam” plan.

Later that day, Mr. Stalin traveled from the Vallalar Nagar and Vivekananda House on the city bus of Vallalar Nagar and Vivekananda House. He interacted with the passengers with the implementation of the “Magalir Vidiyal Payanam” program.

Earlier, Mr. Stalin, along with some of his cabinet colleagues and party staff, paid tribute to the flowers at the memorial halls of former Chief Ministers CN Annadurai and M. Karunanidhi.
