Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi reported that asking students at a university to shout “Jai Shri Ram” to a group of educators SPCSS-TN caused controversy and accused him of violating his oath and secular principles and urged President Droupadi Murmu to remove him from his post.

General School System – National Platform of Tamil Nadu (SPCSS-TN) said Ravi failed to comply with the Constitution and respect its ideals and institutions.

“RAVI should be evacuated from the office of the governor of Tamil Nadu to avoid violation of Article 159 of the Indian Constitution (Operation)” SPCSS-TN Secretary General PB Gajendra Babu Prince Gajendra Babu said in a statement.
Ravi was invited by a government-assisted university in Madurai to as the chief guest to distribute prizes to the winners in a literary competition.

In his speech on April 12, he asked students to chant the name of God in a particular religion three times.


According to the Constitution, India is a secular country, education is a secular activity, and every citizen must abide by the Constitution and respect its ideals and institutions, the flag and the national anthem, as well as the development of scientific temper, humanism, and the spirit of inquiry and reform. However, Ravi failed to protect, defend and protect the Constitution by chanting the name of God in a particular religion and asked students to repeat the same three times.

SPCSS-TN calls on the president to ensure that RAVI is evacuated from the governor’s office of Tamil Nadu.
