Tamil Nadu proposes more electronic vehicle charging points; existing radios view customers with low turnout

More electric vehicle charging stations will appear in the state this fiscal year as the center pushes for green fuel. Indian Oil Company alone will add 600 stations, Bharat Oil Company will add 440 radio stations, Hindustan Oil Company will add 150 stations. There are already 1,000 wired electric vehicle charging stations in the state.
Sources from the state-run oil marketing company (OMC) said the products will be added to existing gasoline shops. “There are enough charging stations along the highway and in urban areas as well. Automakers have dedicated mobile apps that can be used for charging stations, and the location is determined when the car drives into a retail store and the amount is deducted after charging.”
However, fuel pump operators say they have not earned any revenue from electronic vehicle charging stations. “We have had facilities for over seven months, but until so far, there hasn’t even been a customer asking for a charging station. We don’t even know how to operate the equipment. OMC just installed the charger here. But if the car is parked here, we won’t have room for other vehicles,” the dealer said.
Another dealer said electronic car owners/drivers would rather charge for hotels or parks (such as hotels or parks) at home or where they stop to rest. “In the United States, charging stations are available in places like shopping malls, theaters, parks, play areas for children and restaurants where meal time is available. If a charging station is set up on the bed, it doesn’t matter to the driver. When about 70% of charging happens, they charge 15-20 minutes,” he said.
Meanwhile, after a successful trial of upgrading the Chennai-Tiruchi Highway to the electric highway, land acquisition is underway in the National Electric Vehicle Highway (NHEV) (NHEV), to set up charging stations for cars on five roads along the state’s five highways. “The land is leased for at least 20 years. In this model, fleet operators will be encouraged to purchase electronic vehicles with highway version models with cameras and trackers.”
