The Amara Institute of Medical Sciences has opened the most advanced comprehensive medical research department. The governor of Maharashtra CP Radhakrishnan officially unveiled on Saturday (15 March 2025).

Radhakrishnan functionally stressed the importance of collaborative research in addressing contemporary health problems. “The pandemic has highlighted the need for rapid, coordinated and innovative responses to the public health crisis. Through interdisciplinary convergence, we can accelerate the development of personalized treatments, improve patient outcomes and minimize side effects,” he said.

The event also marks an observation on the institution’s research day, where 25 researchers from Amara are respected for their contributions to the medical sciences. Integrated medical research represents a multidisciplinary approach that can address complex health challenges by combining expertise in different fields. While traditional medical education and research focus primarily on specialized areas such as surgery, pharmacology, and pathology, the evolving landscape of modern healthcare requires a more comprehensive perspective.

They said the newly formed department aims to bridge the gap between basic research, such as laboratory studies, and clinical studies including patient trials, to ensure that scientific discoveries quickly translate into practical applications of patient care.
