A series of events narrated in Rikki Rai’s complaints about the shooting suggests that the attackers may have shot Rikki Rai twice, two hours apart. Rakesh Malli was appointed as the main suspect in the attack on Rikki Rai along with Muthappa Rai’s second wife Anuradha and the owner of real estate company Nitesh Estates.

Rikki Rai and his brother Rocky Rai are said to be outside Canada and they have had a long property dispute with Anuradha, who challenged Rai’s Wilt, which gave his sons part of it. Sources said they claimed an off-court settlement was reached in 2024 after a long legal battle. However, the dispute is still lingering and cases are being conducted on certain properties.
