Tata Group invests Rs 6.3 billion in Jajpur

Bhubaneswar: In the landmark development of the industrial landscape in Odisha, Tata Group will invest Rs 6.3 crore to a large industrial project in the Jajpur district. The project is one of the largest private investments in the state in recent years and is expected to significantly increase manufacturing capacity and generate large-scale jobs.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will lay the foundation for ambitious projects on May 22, according to Industry Minister Samapad Swain. Speaking to the media on Saturday, Swain highlighted the change potential of the project, which is expected to create more than 34,000 direct and indirect jobs.
“This is a major milestone in Odisha’s journey to become a leading manufacturing and investment hub. The Tata project will not only drive Jajpur’s economic growth by creating supportive ecosystems for auxiliary industries and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMES), but also promote the development of the surrounding areas.”
The state government has committed full support to ensure smooth implementation of the project, including promoting land acquisition, infrastructure development and necessary permits. The investment is also expected to attract further projects in the sectors such as logistics, housing and education, thereby enhancing the socio-economic landscape of the region.
The Chief Minister will also lay the foundation stone for 12 industrial projects on May 22 and opened four completed projects on May 22 with a joint investment value of Rs 1.14 crore, creating jobs for 34,000 people together.
Earlier, the state received a project worth Rs 630 crore at the “Utkarsh Odisha: in Odisha” conference. The Industry Minister added: “Odisha remains committed to industrial growth and positioned itself as a major destination for investment. In addition to the Tata Group, industrial specialties such as JSW and Vedanta have also expressed strong interest in expanding their footprint in the state.”
