Tata Group’s TCS has acquired 21.16 acres in the state on 99 PAISA land, with IT companies investing Rs 137 billion

The state IT and Electronics minister said TCS will invest Rs 137 billion in a development center that will create about 12,000 jobs.
In a symbolic move, the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved 21.16 acres of land for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a Tata Group IT company in Visakhapatnam, to be allocated at a lease price of 99 PAISA. This land is located on Mount 3, Rushikonda. It has been leased to the symbolic amount of the tech giant, similar to Narendra Modi, then Narendra Modi of Gujarat, and accused Tata of setting up its manufacturing plant in Sanand, a suburb of Ahmedabad. The move is designed to promote Visakhapatnam as a technology hub. IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh Naidu said TCS will invest Rs 137 billion in a development center that will create about 12,000 jobs. The minister visited Tata House in October 2024 and sentenced to TCS to establish a large development center in Andhra Pradesh.
“With the ongoing follow-up and discussion between the state government and the TCS, Mr. Lokesh finally succeeded in the distribution of land to the TCS. A bold decision was sent to the industry that Andhra Pradesh took it seriously to attract IT investment,” the government said in a media statement. The report shows that TCS is expected to start operations in Visakhapatnam within 3 months, initially constructed from the leased building. According to the Indian Express, the permanent campus will eventually accommodate 10,000 employees, although the construction may take two to three years. Tata Consulting Services (TCS) is India’s largest IT services player with a market capitalization of Rs 1,172 crore. Recently, Tata Group IT decided to postpone employee annual salary hikes in 2025, citing turbulent business environment.
