TCS vs Infosys vs Wipro: How many freshmen are recruiting in FY26? Explanation of work prospects for the upcoming year
According to comments from company managers, India’s IT giants – TCS, Infosys and Wipro – reversed the decline in the hiring trend in fiscal 24 and increased the salaries of thousands of employees.
While TATA Consulting Services (TCS) and Infosys, two of India’s leading IT companies, promised to hire more freshmen in fiscal 26, their peer Wipro said they will remain cautious in their upcoming financial situation.

TCS Recruitment
TCS announced it will employ thousands of freshmen in fiscal 26. Chief Human Resources Officer Milind Lakkad said during a TCS news conference that the company is hiring 42,000 freshmen, in line with the hiring in the last fiscal year.
TCS further informed that it launched 1.1 million promotions in fiscal 25. However, the TCS salary rate hike has been postponed this year, unlike the annual incremental cycle in April.
Infosys Recruitment
At the earnings press conference, Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka revealed that India’s second largest IT company plans to hire more than 20,000 freshmen in fiscal 26.
“In terms of recruitment, we want to hire more than 20,000 freshmen,” he said.
Infosys said it plans to hire up to 20,000 freshmen in fiscal 25, a lower goal than in fiscal 26.
The company employs more than 3.23 million professionals. Infosys reported an increase in membership of 199 employees as of the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2025.
Wipro Recruitment
While TCS and Infosys are positive about their hiring prospects, Wipro, another major in IT major in India, said it will remain cautious. Wipro added just 612 employees in the fourth quarter as it continues to engage in large-scale hiring amid global uncertainty.
The total net amount of IT Services Professional is the full net worth of fiscal year 1,032. Wipro said that in the last fiscal year, it was 12,000 freshmen from campus, but the hiring target for FY26 was not disclosed due to project tilt and canceled hiring continued to decline.
