New Delhi: India said on Thursday that it is possible to resume Kailash Mansarovar Yatra soon and may issue public notices. India and China have been considering restoring Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, part of the efforts of the two countries to complete the forces’ disengagement efforts at the two remaining friction points of Demchok and Depsang that were sealed in October last year.
“We will soon send a public notice on Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, and it will be possible to resume Yatra soon,” said Randhir Jaiswal, spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs.
He added: “Yatra will happen this year and we are preparing for it. More information will be available to the public soon.”
Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has never happened since 2020.
