A team of experts from the Central Soil and Materials Research Station (CSMR) and Jal Shakti Department visited the Polavaram project in the Eluru area and collected soil samples on Thursday.
A central team composed of B. Siddharth Hedaoo and Vipul Kumar Gupta, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Water Resources and Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd. (MEIL) visited the project site.
The expert team tested the soil quality at different locations in the project site and collected samples during a two-day visit.
They checked the spillway and soil elsewhere. They said samples will be tested in the CSMRS lab.
Water Resources Engineer V. Nirmala, Executive Engineer V. Srinivasulu and Meil ​​Engineers accompanied the expert team.
