Telangana BC committee defends caste investigation, dismisses criticism

Hyderabad
The Telangana Backward Class (BC) committee strongly opposes the caste investigation criticizing the state.
Although the fact of conducting the census is within the authority of the central government, the Telangana investigation is comprehensive and covers all relevant factors through a lightly low House investigation. British Columbia Council Chairman G. Niranjan said the survey evaluates caste population, politics, economy, society, education and employment for people.
“Covered 1,12,36,849 households (97.10%), 94,261 enumeration blocks were established, and 1,03,889 enumerators and supervisors were appointed in the two-phase survey to collect information,” Mr Niranjan said in a statement issued here.
The survey data led to detailed discussions at the conference, leading to the passage of two bills, which, with the support of each party, provided BC with 42% reservations regardless of any affiliation. Critics of the survey should clarify who is responsible for the delay in conducting the 2021 census.
He said the state’s caste survey is designed to provide priorities and reservations to BC based on their population, but he said it is unclear how the center’s caste census will benefit the BCS.
