11 banned clothing cadres arrested in Manipur

Police said on Wednesday (April 16, 2025) that security forces arrested 11 banned cadres from Thoubal, Tengnoupal, Imphal East and Imphal West areas.
The people were allegedly picked up and dropped off on Tuesday (April 15), involving blackmail.
Four KCP officials (Apunba City Meitei) were arrested in Salungpham Mamang Leikai in Thoubal area.

Police reported .32 pistols with magazines and three live shows and found three grenades from their possession.
Police took three members of the Socialist Revolutionary Party (Sorepa) from Waithou Chiru in the Imphal East area.
Active members of KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) were arrested in the Lampel area of Imphal West.
The Central Forces also arrested three United National Liberation Fronts (UNLF-K) from Monday (April 14) (April 14).
More than 260 people have been killed and thousands have been homeless since May 2023, since racial violence broke out between the Imphal Valley and the neighboring Church community.
The conflict began after the “tribal solidarity march” organized in the Hill region to protest the order of the Manipur High Court on the demand for the Meitei community’s pre-determined tribal status.
