Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy described the address of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) head K. Chandrasekhar Rao at the party’s public meeting as a combination of frustration and deception, trying to blind the people of Telangana’s “loot” of the decade “LOOT” of the newly formed country of BRS.
Speaking to Hyderabad reporters on Monday (April 28, 2025), Mr Reddy said KCR is now trying to blame Congress after pushing Telangana toward deep debt. He said Mr Rao’s speech lacked clarity and used the platform to show his frustration with the loss of power.
“KCR lost my heart,” he said, and the former chief minister has not digested the reality. Now, his only intention is to blame Congress (KCR) for all the bad things that have been caused in the past 10 years. In response to Mr Rao’s claim that the government cannot handle the “children” in Parliament (referring to KT Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao), Mr Reddy asked why he was sending children when he was attending the conference as the leader of the opposition.
The chief minister also dismissed KCR’s claim that the government created obstacles at the BRS meeting, saying the RTC bus was provided for the meeting and the company also made some profits. “When the BRS was in power, KCR didn’t even allow Congress to rent RTC buses to Rahul Gandhi’s meeting in Hammam,” he said. “Unlike them, we don’t think public meetings can be stopped when buses are not provided.”
The chief minister said the government has launched several welfare schemes over the past 17 months and efforts are now simplifying them. No other state government has launched a welfare program that the Telangana government is implementing. “I don’t believe in launching and closing plans like the last administration.”
No revenge politics
Reddy ruled out revenge politics, saying he would not indirectly mention the road used by KCR in the attack call, Kaleshwaram project construction or formulaic competition investigation. “The investigation will be carried out according to the law and that will be the consequence. I don’t want to arrest people like KCR.”
Eliminate the gap with Rahul
Mr Reddy also dismissed the “gap” with Rahul Gandhi and said he did not need to prove his close relationship with anyone. Regarding the transfer of IAS officials, he said the transfer is an administrative issue and the government will do so when it is needed.
The Chief Minister also issued a covert warning to the law firm that they need to participate in their constituencies, not in Hyderabad. He said politically that patience is necessary and that those who sail with him will get opportunities like Addanki Dayakar.
