Telangana DCA has 65 seizures linked to various crimes involving drugs

Hyderabad: The Telangana Drug Control Administration (DCA) has been on a vigilant stance and has found various crimes related to false drugs, misleading advertising, quack doctors, illegal inventory and drug sales.

In addition to the drugs that were falsely manufactured and sold under the guise of food and nutrition in March 2025, it conducted 65 seizures related to crimes involving drugs. During the raid, DCA seized Rs 30,300 and found several substandard drugs in the state.

Of the 65 seizures, one was associated with fake drug rackets, while 50 were associated with misleading ads, and two were associated with unlicensed medical stores and illegal stocking and drug sales. Seven kinds of epilepsy seizures are linked to unlicensed inventory and drug sales.

DCA director VB Kamalasan Reddy said Tuesday that two additional cases were linked to falsely manufactured and sold drugs as nutritional agents, while three were out of date drugs, physician samples, not standard quality drugs and improperly stored drugs.

The drug control laboratory reported 15 unqualified drugs, including antibiotics, antibiotics, antiworming and anti-animal-philic drugs. These samples fail in assays, dissolutions and descriptions, which may render the drug ineffective in treating the disease.
