Telangana Govt says the rock formations of Kancha Gachibowli remain intact

In an official statement, the government clarified that there is no one-inch 400 acres in the University of Hyderabad, and there is no truth in the publicity carried out in some parts, and if the government auctions the land, two main lakes will be destroyed. “In contrast to false propaganda, neither Lake Buffalo nor Peacock Lake constituted part of the 400 acres identified in the auction,” it said.

The government said TG Industrial Infrastructure has prepared a layout that properly preserves the rock formations, viewing it as a green space within the layout. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy prioritizes hyperlocal sustainability and environmental needs in each plan. It said a detailed environmental management plan ensures sustainable development in the region.

Commenting on the false claim that the land belongs to UOH, the government said that TGIIC asked UOH to conduct a joint investigation to determine the boundaries of 400 acres and university land. Therefore, with the consent of the Registrar, an investigation was conducted on July 19, 2024 and fixed in the presence of UOH officials and borders.

Regarding ownership of the land, it said that the government allocated 400 acres to IMG Bharata in January 2004 to develop the international standard sports complex, but the government subsequently canceled the distribution in 2006 because the company failed to show any progress.

IMG Bharata filed a cancellation in the High Court. After a long period of legal struggle, the verdict in March last year was in its favor.

The company filed a high court order to the Supreme Court, and the government filed a special petition, which was also dismissed. The official release notes that the country’s Supreme Court established ownership of the state’s land, as well as any false claims of ownership by anyone other than the government.
