against HinduTelangana Police Director General (DGP) Jitender confirmed that police officers are sensitive to the intensification of alarms and intelligence gathering efforts to identify any potential threats. “We had two video conferences with senior police officers (one last night, another this morning) and directed officers to take enhanced security measures. We have begun collecting specific inputs related to abnormal or suspicious activity, but so far there is no such wisdom.”

Police presence has increased in public places, famous landmarks and transport centers such as train and bus stations to increase vigilance. “We usually maintain a flexible force deployment strategy,” the DGP added. “In this case, increased sensitivity needs to be improved and we will strengthen our security presence accordingly.”

After the Pahargam strike, there was concern across the country that this enhanced preventive measure was with India’s high alert.
