Telugu filmmaker Naga Vamsi held a press conference in Hyderabad on Monday to discuss the success of Mad Square.
At a recent event in his film Mad Square, Telugu filmmaker Naga Vamsi (known for his jersey and lucky Lucky Baskhar) was angry with the media. He challenged journalists and critics to “ban” him, saying he could still promote his films and do a good job, but the media industry will suffer without him.
Telugu filmmaker Naga Vamsi held a press conference in Hyderabad on Monday to discuss the success of Mad Square. During the event, he lashed out at film critics and responded strongly to Mad Square’s comparison with his 2023 predecessor Mad.
He also noted that some critics claimed that Mad Square had performed well at the box office only because its rival Robinhood failed to impress the audience.
He lashed out in the media, saying, “Does people not know what they like and don’t like? Or do you know all of this? Your website and YouTube channel run because we give you satisfaction and interviews. We also offer ads, so please don’t kill movies because of this industry because you exist in this industry.”
When some journalists pointed out that the movie interview was primarily for promotions, Vamsi responded strongly, daring them to ban his movies.
He said, “I dare you ban me. Ban me and my movies, don’t comment on them, don’t take my ads. Let’s see how it works. I’ll still find a way to promote my movies; I’ll have a headache. But how will you play? You exist because of this industry.”
Filmmakers urged viewers not to take comments seriously, calling them personal opinions rather than “election results.” “This is not the election result for most opinions. It’s no surprise if a man fights with his wife at home and makes bad comments about it. Don’t believe the comments. Everyone loves lucky Basca, but the reviewers don’t praise it.”
Crazy Square stars Narne Nithiin, Sangeeth Sobhan, Ram Nithin and Priyanka Jawalkar take the lead. It is directed by Kalyan Shankar and produced by Naga Vamsi.
The filmmaker also made the highly anticipated movie of Vijay Deverakonda kingdomcurrently being filmed.
