Telugu movie exhibitors seek profit sharing model, setting June 1 as a deadline

Hyderabad: About 1,600 film exhibitors in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana threaten to shut down cinemas, requiring producers to allow them to switch to revenue sharing mode compared to the current rental model.

“As the pace of theaters over the past six months or more declines, the rental system is no longer feasible for exhibitors. Many film exhibitions have been cancelled due to the lack of seven audiences. However, electricity bills have increased and maintenance costs have increased three to four times,” Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat Bharat

About 60 exhibitors attended Sunday’s meeting, including major players such as Suresh Productions.

“They are seeking a share of collections between producers and exhibitors. For example, they seek a revenue sharing model of 80-20 or 70-30 per week instead of the old rental system. The rentals for theaters range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 depending on the location, and only the sharing of income will help their cause,” he noted. ”

“Most exhibitors from both Telugu states are determined to adopt a percentage system of rental models,” one source said.

The conference was reportedly concluded with the Telugu Film Conference Hall, agreeing to send a formal letter to the producers urging them to consider the exhibitor’s request; otherwise, alternative plans will be considered.

“Some exhibitors already in East Godavari have said they will close the theaters starting June 1. Hundreds of exhibitors are seeking to close operations without considering their requirements. This is not the last ATAM, but these exhibitors are firmly implementing the percentage system. However, in the next few days, the exact percentage allocation will be determined after meeting with the producers,” he ended up. ”
