In response to escalating tensions along the India-Pakistan border, authorities in the West Godavari region have stepped up surveillance in public places.
Adnan Nayeem Asmi, chief of the West Godavari Police Department, said the bomb and dog teams, as well as other intelligence wings, have been deployed to enhance security and monitor suspicious activity.
“We are closely monitoring the presence and movement of strangers throughout the region,” Mr Nayeeem Asmi said. Special alerts have been issued at buses and train stations. He added that people were urged to report any abnormal movements or strangers to police.
