Tensions in Mangaluru when Indian activists are murdered: CM promises severe action; BJP draws attention

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the government will identify and place the alleged murder of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty as part of the tensions seized Mangaluru, as well as part of the Dakshina Kannada district. On May 6, the police have been banning the entire Dakshina Kannada area throughout the Dakshina Kannada area.

Police also investigated whether Shetty's murder was linked to the recent lynching of Ashraf, a Wayanad resident in Kerala. Shetty faces criminal cases and is charged with murdering Mahammed Fazil in Surathkal three years ago and was released on bail last year.

Shetty was attacked by a group of men in Mangaluru on Thursday as he drove in an SUV with a group of friends. He was taken to AJ Hospital, but by then he had died. National Highway 66 was blocked for a long time because Shetty's body stayed in his village for a final ceremony.
