On his X account (now called “Gorklon Rust”) – Musk released a short clip of Tesla’s humanoid robot Optimus, performing a dance. There are very few titles: just an emoji for a dancing person. Later, Musk added a clarification in his answer to his post: “This is real, real-time.” The clip has Optimus Prime changes, spinning its limbs and mimicking the rhythm of human movement, spreading the virus immediately.
Although many viewers were surprised, others were skeptical. “Is this real or is it an AI creation?” an X user asked in a reply. This issue attracted immediate attention.
Musk shared multiple videos of Tesla humanoid robots dancing like humans. Musk shared a video of robot dance showing its advanced features in real-time motion and balance. Commenting on videos like this, he wrote: “This is real-time.” “Optimus Prime will perform ballet perfectly,” Tesla CEO wrote in a Twitter post.
“This is still far from our final form,” Musk said in another post on Twitter.
X-integrated AI chatbot Grok provides analysis. According to Grok, the clip is consistent with known features of Optimus and comes with public demonstrations from past, including WE, the robotics activity in October 2024 and Tesla’s April 2025 release.

Tesla dances on Optimus Prime video
Tesla’s official Twitter account quoted a video of Optimus Dance in a romping post, jokingly questioning whether the company is primarily an automaker, writing: “We’re a car company, are we?”
Tesla Optimus Prime has shown significant improvements in agility and expressiveness since its first prototype debut in 2022. This latest demonstration is part of Tesla’s broader advancement of AI and robotics, an event like the “We, Robot” display box (Optimus) has previously performed synchronous dances, which emphasizes the focus on functionality and expressive movement. Elon Musk said Optimus Prime is expected to handle various daily tasks in the future, with its production plan limited to 2025.
Tesla first introduced the concept of humanoid robots on AI Day in 2021. At the time, there was no prototype, and the event featured a man wearing a robot dance. Fast forward to today, Tesla’s Optimus has evolved significantly and can perform real-world tasks.
The first real glimpse of Optimus was in 2022, when Tesla made its semi-functional prototype on AI Day, the robot showing basic walking and arm movements.

By 2023, Tesla’s Optimus Gen 2 has advanced to handle more complex activities such as colored blocks, maintaining yoga poses, and even performing dance routines. The robot’s hands are also upgraded to provide 11 degrees of motion, with the goal of a future version of 22 degrees.
Elon Musk describes the Optimus robot as one of Tesla’s most important innovations. Unlike traditional robots that run based on preset instructions, Optimus aims to learn from real-world experiences and simulations, allowing it to act independently.
This capability positiones Optimus as a breakthrough in human robot cooperation, especially in manufacturing. With applications across industries, it can leverage the potential $25 trillion market and support sustainability efforts by playing a role in a physically demanding workforce range.
