Rahul Tewatia once again scored a harsh victory for the Gujarat Titans, beating Mitchell Starc for a full-length delivery, six and four consecutive balls, and the final game required 10 runs.
Once the Iceman was called the last hero of the Iceman, Tewatia was frigid after defeating the Delhi capital. He quipped at a post-match press conference: “That’s how we win most games. The Gujarat Titans have been doing this.”
Tewatia’s Blitz left Jos Buttler, a well-deserved century, but expert Terminator said the British asked him not to worry about his own milestones.
“He asked me not to think about him 100%. He told me ‘I know you’re very clear in your mind. Execute your plan.”
Starc successfully defended eight games in the final, a series of accurate Yorkers against Rajasthan Royals to bring the game to the super game, and Tewatia said he was ready for the game plan.
“He bowled in the final of the last game and defended the way he played nine games, and I was ready and he would support his Yorker. My plan was to hit the good of both the Yorker and a good guy,” he said.
Meanwhile, DC pacemaker Mukesh Kumar admitted his team lacked 10 to 15 shots at the batting-friendly wicket. “That was a goal, so anyone who wasn’t bad was punished with four or six,” he said.
