TG grants 276 acres of Patta equivalent rights to evict Adivosis from Kawal Tiger Reserve

adirabad: The Telangana government issued Government Order No. 43 on Saturday, giving negligible rights – the equivalent of Patta, over 276 acres, to relocate to 94 families from the core area of Kawal Tiger Reserve.
Under the order, each family will get 2 acres and 32 Guntas in Rampur in Maisampet and Dharmajipet reside and Kadam Mandal. The Chief Director of the Land Administration reviewed the allocation and designated 243.24 acres of Naknilapar village investigation, in which 243.24 acres of land were designated as government land that could be easily neglected in the No. 217 investigation in Maddipadaga village.
The families were relocated on April 15, 2024 under the National Tiger Protection Agency's voluntary relocation plan. Of the 142 families who chose to relocate, 48 elected Rs.1.5 lakh cash compensation (Option 1), while 94 chose Land-based rehabilitation (Option 2). Using GO 43 GO MS, the transfer of land is now legally equated with Patta Lands.
This marks the first relocation of Kawal Tiger reserves for tiger protection. Forest Department officials are now preparing to initiate a similar relocation for four villages in the Amrabad Tiger Reserve, where they have brought several families from ATR to the new settlement in Kadam to encourage voluntary participation.
