Trainer Greatrex shared that the tragedy was “great frustration” – marking the third death in four years.
“I am absolutely heartbroken, I will always love your partner, and I will always take you with me no matter what I do.
“Please, please, if you are working hard, please talk to someone. Love your partner. Leaving too early.
The yard was previously shocking in 2021 when 19-year-old Michael Pitt died, less than a year later, David Thompson, 25, was found dead near the yard base in Berkshire Hangerford.
At the end of 2022, Greatrex reflected both tragedies and said Thompson’s death was “as difficult as everything I’ve experienced in my life.”
Michael is like we moved to Ronnhurst. This is so scary. “He is such a character who lost him at an age similar to my boy. This is not easy.
Michael was a happy lad, and this hit us, but David’s death shocked me.
“I remember the police came and said it was him and had to go out to the same staff and tell them at the same location on their team that they were hitting the floor again. It was as difficult as everything I’ve ever experienced in my life.
“It makes me proud to see the staff stick together. They work for me, but I see them as families.
“You are responsible for them and when two of them disappear, there will definitely be problems. “What did I do?” you asked, but David wrote a letter saying that the happiest days of his life are here.
After the tragedy, Moffat’s family established a GoFundMe To cover his funeral expenses, at the time of writing, it has reached its expected £10,500 target of £13,000.
