Born in March 1939, Jagdeep worked in part of the film industry for 70 years, during which time he worked in more than 400 films. Jagdeep began his career in 1951 as an additional child artist at BR Chopra. He then transitions to child actors in various films such as Ab Dilli Door Nahin, Munna, Aar Paar, Do Bigha Zamin and Hum Panchhi Ek Daal Ke. Jagdeep was initiated by AVM Productions in the leading actors of the movie “Brother”, Barka and Bindia. He continued to do a few movies before establishing his comedian.

Jagdeep comes from a modest background, but manages to name himself in the film industry. As for his personal life, Jagdeep got married three times and was the father of six children. His first wife, Naseem Begum, has three children, Hussein, Shakira and Surya. In 1960, he married Sughra Begum. They have two sons, Javed Jaffrey and TV producer/director Naved Jaffrey, host of dance performance Boogie Woogie, who continues to pursue a successful career. Jagdeep’s third marriage was with Nazima, who had a daughter, Muskaan Jaffrey.
Jagdeep died in July 2020 at his home in Mumbai after age-related health problems. He is 81 years old.
