Iconic actor director duo Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan are reunited fourteen years later with the upcoming horror comedy movie Bhooth Bangla. With Akshay’s titled movie, Priyadarshan sitting in the director’s chair, Bhooth Bangla is expected to take another hit in production after considering their trail of offering cult classics.
Recently, Akshay Kumar ended the shooting of Bhooth Bangla and announced the same photo on his social media. Celebrating his reunion with the acclaimed director, Akshay wrote, “And that’s a wrap on #BhoothBangla! My seventh madcap adventure with the ever-inventive Priyan sir, my second outing with the unstoppable Ekta, and my first but hopefully not the last, magical journey with the ever-surprising Wamiqa. Grateful for the madness, the magic, and the memories. 🎬♥”
Together with De Dana Dan, Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Garam Masala, etc., Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan created an era of their own. Not only did they not shoot classic movies, they also brought a fresh perspective to comedy, blending clean and humorous conversations, and supported by Akshay’s impeccable comedy timing – just to create a highly celebrated and revisited comedy thrill. Viewers believe that most of the Bollywood comedy movies were unveiled during a collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan. And now, the duo teamed up again to keep graphics with Bhooth Bangla!
Under the classic guidance of Priyadarshan, Akshay Kumar will be seen pairing with Wamiqa Gabbi for the first time. The film also plays Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Sharman Joshi, Mithila Palkar, Rajpal Yadav, Jaaved Jaaferi and many others in key roles. The film, produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor, was originally scheduled to land in the theater on April 2, 2026 under the banner of Balaji movies.
