The Archbishop urged the government. Strengthen action on wildlife attacks

Archbishop Raphael Thattil of the Syro-Malabar Church blames the government for failing to check for the growing losses killed due to wildlife attacks.

He urged authorities to take immediate measures to ensure the safety of people living near the forest. He begged the death of the 44-year-old rubber Tapper, who was killed by a tiger while working on a plantation in Adakkakundu near Kalikavu in Malapuram district on Thursday morning.

He said in the exchange that wild animals exist in human habitation near forest areas, and the death of life in wildlife attacks reminds people of inaction by the forest department. He added that the government must initiate steps to learn from best practices in developed countries to address the problem.
