The Army has promoted mobile connectivity in the Ladakh region, including Galvan, Siaki Glacier

They say troops deployed in some of the world’s most desolate terrain, such as DBO, Galwan, Demchok, Chumar, Chumar, Batalik, Dras and Siachen Glacier – now have access to reliable 4G and 5G mobile connectivity.
Officials said the move proved to be a primary morale booster for soldiers serving in quarantine winter critical positions above 18,000 feet, allowing them to stay in touch with their families and loved ones.
They added that groundbreaking work has been achieved through a collaborative approach across the entire government framework, with the Indian Army (utilizing its strong fiber-optic cable infrastructure) working with Telecom Service Providers (TSPS) and UT Ladakh.
Army officials said the fire and anger had a leadership role in making this synergy, resulting in the installation of several mobile towers on the Army infrastructure, including four main towers in the Ladakh and Kargir regions.
The impact of the program goes far beyond the welfare of the troops. This is an important national construction effort that is changing the socio-economic structure of remote border villages. By integrating the “first village” into the national digital network, this work is bridging the digital divide, promoting local economies, promoting border tourism, enhancing medical assistance and emergency services, and enabling educational visits. They said a particularly historic milestone was the successful installation of 5G mobile towers on the world’s highest battlefield, demonstrating India’s technological strength and determination. Officials said the local population welcomed the initiative with overwhelming thanks. Mobile connectivity is not only a communication tool, but is now a lifeline for remote communities, promoting inclusion, opportunity and dignity.
Officials added that this visionary initiative of the Indian Army demonstrates its enduring commitment to national integration and development, echoing the spirit of “Vixit Bharat” – India @2047.
