India and Pakistan have agreed to continue to understand to “stop all shooting and military operations in the air and in the ocean that will take effect at 5 pm on May 10.” The two countries will also continue to adopt “confidence-building measures” aimed at lowering the level of Indian military. Pakistan claims “military to military communication” will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, and the ceasefire will be in effect until May 18.

Meanwhile, as the guns remain silent and the drone was not seen in the past two days, Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi visited the advance locations of Srinagar, URI and Unchi Bassi and interacted with the troops.

“After learning more about the understanding between the two DGMOs on May 10, 2025, it was decided to continue to take confidence-building measures to reduce the level of alertness. We will maintain close relationships with you as the situation develops further.” However, there is no further clarification, and the two DGMOs addressed the established hotline on Thursday (May 15, 2025), as Pakistan said.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar informed the parliament in Islamabad that both sides had a “military and military communication” on Wednesday and Thursday, “Today we had a dialogue, which is a ceasefire until May 18”, News Agency AFP Report.
In response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, India conducted a precise strike on nine terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor in the early morning of May 7. The military confrontation between the two countries then lasted until May 10, when the two DGMOs spoke on the hotline in a phone call initiated by one of Pakistan. There is an understanding to “stop all shooting and military operations in the air and in the ocean that will take effect at 5 p.m. on May 10” and agree that they will speak again on May 12.
During a 5pm call on May 12, the two DGMOs discussed the issue with continuing commitment that neither side could launch a shot or launch any aggressive and meaningless actions on each other.
“Also agree, both sides consider taking immediate measures to ensure that the troops are reduced from the border and the area of advancement,” the Army said.
Israel supports India
In addition, Israel fully supports India’s due struggle against terror on Thursday when praising the success of the Sindor operation. This is by Major General (Res, Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Defense.
“Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral defensive ties and discussed a roadmap for the future to further strengthen strategic cooperation,” the Indian Ministry of Defense said.
Army chief praises the troops
Army officials said General Dwwiwidi appreciated their “accurate and bold actions” during their interaction with troops on the ground, resulting in the destruction of a terrorist training camp in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, a major operational success for Operation Sindor. “This visit was a heartfelt appreciation gesture, not focusing on operational review, but a courage and spirit of various weapons and services that played a key role in decisively repelling Pakistan’s air and ground provocations,” an Army official said.
Officials added that in praising their collective perseverance, high morale and seamless coordination, the Army chief also appreciated the humanitarian role played by the troops in providing relief and assistance to the unreasonable and timid cross-bombarded civilians in Pakistan.
“Great Victory”
Meanwhile, John Spencer, chairman of Urban Warfare Research at the Modern Warfare Institute, said Operation Sindor redefined India’s red line, viewing terrorist attacks in Pakistan’s territory as an act of war, while calling it a “huge victory.”
“India has worked harder to defeat war in general. It is textbook deterrence: calibration, control and credibility.” Veteran Mr Spencer observed that India achieved and “beyond its strategic objectives” in just four days of calibration military operations, calling it a “decisive force for clear application”, not just a symbolic force.
