The big explosion reported in Lahore; flights paused at Sialkot Airport in Karachi, Lahore

On May 8, Lahore reportedly took a series of deadly precise strikes in many sites occupied by Indian troops in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, news agencies reported. Reuters said that the Pakistan Airport Authority temporarily suspended its flight operations at Karachi, Lahore and Sialkot airports. The Pakistan Airport Authority announced that airports in Lahore and Sialkot will not be operated for any flights until 12pm on Thursday. As AAJ News reports, this suspension undermines the schedule for domestic and international flights.
Travelers are advised to contact the airline for the latest updates about their flight schedule and any potential delays.
The incident comes after a target strike by Indian troops that successfully demolished nine terrorist bases associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen, as part of the “Sindoor” of Pakistan and Pakistan with Pakistan Qupupied Kashmir.

The Indian Air Force conducted precise strikes at four locations in Pakistan, while Pakistan-occupied Kashmir has five more locations. The Ministry of Defense described the operation as “centralized, measured and non-propaganda”, clearly avoiding any military objectives in Pakistan.

Operation Sindoor is a cooperative mission involving the military, navy and air force. The Ministry of Defense clarified that the operation was only aimed at eliminating terrorist infrastructure and had no danger to Pakistani military facilities. Furthermore, the military operation was a direct response to the terrorist attacks in Pahargam, Jamu and Kashmir on April 22, killing 26 people. The Indian government advocates the right to face cross-border terrorism and respond to imminent threats. At the press conference, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasized the link between Pakistan and terrorist groups, citing the Pahalgam attack as a clear example. “On April 22, a terrorist trained in Pakistan, associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, carried out a horrific attack on tourists in Pahalgam, killing twenty-five Indians and a Nepali citizen,” Misri said.

“This incident marked the worst since the 2008 Mumbai attack, especially since civilians were directed to targeting,” he added.
